Value Driven

My driving values are empathy, communication, creativity, and maintaining a growth mindset. I try to carry these values into everything I do.

Empathy:

The foundation of good learning experience design is understanding your learners. I understand how to conduct a learner analysis and design surveys that will help identify knowledge and performance gaps.

I have experience collecting data from learners to understand what they have learned and where challenges arose. I can take various feedback and synthesize it into actionable steps to make learning better in the next iteration.

Communication:

I can communicate with different audiences and write in a tone to fit the need of the project.

I have designed learning for customers, internal employees, adults, and children.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a background in curriculum design, teaching, and copywriting. I hold an MS in Instructional Design and Technology.

Creativity:

I have been drawing since I could hold a crayon. As an adult, one of my favorite hobbies is drawing pen and ink portraits and digital illustrations while listening to podcasts and audio books.

I love solving problems creatively and figuring out how to simplify complex things or make concepts stick in the learner’s mind.

Growth Mindset:

I will never be “done” learning. I am on a constant quest for knowledge and will take advantage of learning opportunities. Whether it's new software tools or mindset work.  I love to travel and try new things.

I read about the e-learning industry, AI, and up and coming trends. I also read memoirs, historical fiction, and everything Octavia Butler ever wrote.

I seek out training and higher education. I have participated in the Association for Talent Development’s mentorship program, attended DevLearn, TechLearn, and Gamicon conferences.

Every where I go, I make “friendtors” (mentors who become friends or the other way around).

I drew this image with help from my middle school students and created a vector using Adobe Fresca to create a coloring page for them.
