Neurodiversity Culture
I collaborated with my colleague, Ramona Meyer, to conduct an analysis that included surveys and focus groups to determine how neurodivergent employees at our company felt about inclusion in our culture and what would help them feel supported at work.
What We Did:
-
We started an employee resource group called CANDY which stands for Celebrating A NeuroDivergent You. The ERG meets monthly with a consistently growing membership.
-
We created a Sharepoint page with resources about Neurodiversity. This page has vocabulary, tools for employees and managers. It has resources about neurodiversity for employees and their children. It is updated monthly with new resources.
-
We created this hybrid learning event to promote our new employee resource group, and help educate the rest of the business on key vocabulary. This was held across four locations in Chicago, Georgia and Canada. Participants scanned QR codes to access learning resources about neurodiversity history, executive functioning, and sensory challenges.

Organizational Impact:
“I love how quickly I don't feel so alone here. So happy I found this group.”
-Account Manager / ERG
Thank you both for leading the charge on the Neurodiversity Focus Groups and in pulling together the NeuroDiversity ERG. Your work on this has made a huge impact for many employees across the organization: in connecting them and giving them a platform to connect with one another as "One Team"; in helping them feel safe and seen and providing an opportunity to share honest thoughts, concerns, and feedback with "integrity"; and in employing "innovative" techniques for learning all we can about the ways to help our fellow employees succeed.
-L&D Manager
Hi Keli I wanted to send you a reward. I would like to thank you for help getting C.A.N.D.Y started and thriving. I love the work you are doing and the response from the group.”

E-Learning and Videos
I created this game and video as a part of our hybrid event. Users scanned a QR code to access these resources. When they finished the game, they could watch this video I made that explains the executive functions and how how to support executive functioning at work.
